EXTENDED ABSTRACTS

FIRST CALL FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

 

IAHR and the Congress Organising Committee invite you to take part in the 8th IAHR Europe Congress ‘Water – Across Boundaries’ to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 4 to 7 June 2024. The Congress will bring together scientists, engineers, young professionals, students, and companies in water related subjects, to share experiences and present the most recent developments in R&D.

 

Organized around six themes - covering aquifers, rivers, reservoirs and dams, estuaries, coasts and ports, urban water, numerical and experimental methods, climate change and risk mitigation and governance and water resources management - the Congress endeavors to establish a unified and interdisciplinary platform that facilitates the convergence of science, engineering, and societal policy. Its primary objective is to unite the water science, engineering, and management communities to, collectively, tackle the urgent and paramount water-related issues confronting our world.

The upcoming 8th IAHR Europe Congress is anticipated to be a thrilling and rewarding experience for all attendees. We firmly believe that your active engagement and contributions will serve as the cornerstone of this Congress' triumph. We eagerly await your unique and valuable contributions.

 

We are pleased to announce that the online abstract submission process is now open and acessible here, where you can also find details about the preliminary program. The abstract submission deadline is November 17, 2023. All abstracts will be peer-reviewed and the Congress International Scientific Committee (ISC) will inform contributors if their abstract has been selected by the beginning of January 2024.

 

Authors who would like to write a full paper for proceedings (not necessary for participating at the conference if not wished by the author) will then have a six week period to submit their full paper, after which they will be reviewed for final acceptance.

GUIDELINES FOR YOUR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

 

Your abstract must be submitted through the Online Submission Form on this webpage. Each author can submit a maximum of 2 abstracts. Please note that only one author can be the presenter. Also note that for the abstract to be included in the congress, the presenting author of each accepted abstract must be fully registered at the indicated time. 

 

Please make sure you select the theme with the subtheme to which your abstract belongs as well as your presenting preference. Please note that the Scientific Committee reserves the right to decide on the final form of the presentation. A submission receipt is automatically sent to the corresponding author right after submission. Should you not receive this email, please contact the Technical Secretariat, so we can make sure your submission went through.

Those authors who wish to publish their paper in the conference proceedings can submit their full paper (4-10 pages) after their abstract acceptance.
